PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:
Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) trains operate from Fremont, Dublin/Pleasanton, Richmond, Bay Point/Concord and San Francisco/Millbrae/San Francisco Airport. A map indicating the route and stops of each train is located at each station. The Berkeley (Downtown Berkeley) BART station is just 1-1/2 blocks west of the UC Berkeley campus and 8 blocks from the Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS:
From Northbound Highway 101 (Daly City, San Francisco Airport)
- Exit to San Francisco / Oakland Bay Bridge
- Exit to I-80 East (Berkeley/Sacramento)
- Exit University Avenue. Veer to your right, heading East, towards the Berkeley Hills
- Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street
- Turn right onto Oxford Street (heading south)
- Oxford Street becomes Fulton Street near the Touchless Car Wash
- At the third stoplight, turn left onto Durant (heading east)
- Follow Durant Avenue until you pass the stoplight at Bowditch Street
- Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive will be on the left in the middle of the block on Durant.
From Westbound 24 (Contra Costa County)
- Take 24 through the Caldecott Tunnel to Highway 13 Berkeley exit
- Continue on 13, Hwy 13 becomes Ashby Avenue near the Clarmont Hotel
- Turn right onto Telegraph Avenue (heading north)
- Turn right onto Durant Avenue (heading east)
- Follow Durant Avenue until you pass the stoplight at Bowditch Street
- Berkeley Art Musuem & Pacific Film Archive will be on the left in the middle of the block on Durant.
From Westbound Highway 13
- Highway 13 becomes Tunnel Road
- Continue on Tunnel Road. Tunnel Road becomes Ashby Avenue near the Clarmont Hotel
- Turn right onto Telegraph Avenue (heading north)
- Turn right onto Durant Avenue (heading east)
- Follow Durant Avenue until you pass the stoplight at Bowditch Street
- Berkeley Art Musuem & Pacific Film Archive will be on the left in the middle of the block on Durant.
From I-80 East or West (San Francisco, Sacramento, Richmond, Vallejo)
- Exit University Avenue. Veer to your right, heading East, towards the Berkeley Hills
- Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street
- Turn right onto Oxford Street (heading south)
- Oxford Street will become Fulton Street near the Touchless Car Wash
- At the third stoplight, turn left onto Durant (heading east)
- Follow Durant Avenue until you past the stoplight at Bowditch Street
- Berkeley Art Museum & Pacific Film Archive will be on the left in the middle of the block on Durant.
From Westbound I-580
- Exit I-80 East (Berkeley/Sacramento)
- Exit at University Avenue
- Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street
- Turn right onto Oxford Street (heading south)
- Oxford Street becomes Fulton Street near the Touchless Car Wash
- At the third stoplight, turn left onto Durant (heading east)

From North I-880 (San Jose, Hayward, Oakland Airport)
- Stay in left center lanes
- Exit 80 East (Berkeley)
- Exit University Avenue. Veer to your right, heading East, towards the Berkeley Hills
- Continue East on University Avenue for approximately 1.5 miles to Oxford Street
- Turn right onto Oxford Street (heading south)
- Oxford Street becomes Fulton Street near the Touchless Car Wash

The Sather Gate Garage is located two blocks from the UC Berkeley Campus. One-half block west of Telegraph Avenue, with entrances on both Durant Avenue and Channing Way, Sather Gate Garage is convenient to shops, restaurants, Telegraph Avenue and the UC campus. Sather Gate Garage is open from 7 a.m. to 1 a.m. Monday through Thursday, on Friday and Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 a.m., and on Sunday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. except holidays.
