My research involves developing simulation methods that will aid in the modeling of the alpha pathway here at MSI.  Currently this work involves collaborations with Drs. Koichi Takahashi and Larry Lok. With Takahashi I am extending the current and next-generation versions of the E-Cell Simulation Environment- a multi-algorithmic cellular simulation platform-with capabilities for dynamic model structure.  I am also using these new features to develop new algorithms for the E-Cell platform that use compact specifications of individual protein-protein interactions to generate the full network of protein species and reactions found in the alpha pathway, using components from Moleculizer that were developed by Dr. Larry Lok.  This work will help make possible biologically realistic mathematical models using available biological knowledge.
