The Molecular Sciences Institute Summer High School Internship 2003 was a success! Our four high school interns: Scott Coyle, Jermaine Deckard, Jeremy Gordon, and Tyra Mcray, represented three different high schools this year: Grenada High School, John F. Kennedy High School, and Berkeley High School.
The interns worked side-by-side with one or two staff scientists on both the computer side and in MSI's wetlab for 8 weeks during the summer. The interns also visited a variety of locations around the bay area including Walnut Creek's Joint Genome Institute, UC Berkeley's Electron Microscopy Lab, and the Keasling Lab.
